As I lie alone in my bed
You scent lingers
In my head, on the soft linen
The memories rise
Touch, taste, skin prickling
Hearts pounding
Discovering, exploring
New and foreign lands
Silence surrounds me now
Just a few short hours ago
Whispered sweet nothings
Caressed the corners of my soul
Empty coffee cups
Long since cold
Remind me of a longing stare
A simple conversation
As I lie alone in my bed
With all these thoughts
Racing through my head
I dream and hope
Letting it out in the world
That soon, soon
You will return
And lets never part again
