In the flower garden of your heart
butterflies flutter, never far apart
and they carry the perfume aroma
to the delight of He who gives Life.
I am but a gardener, humbly honoured
with the task of loosening the fertile soil
so your blooms may flourish
into a royal garden, oh duchess.
In the woods that is my heart
with beasts untamed, stalking the shadows,
the Light of God reaches through
the canopy of leaf vast, to leave
a patch here and a path there.
Here there is no breeze that tickles the leaves
only your song that sees them grow
into majestic giants, oh princess.
Plant your flowers in the heart of my woods
let me protect thy blooms,
let me caress their petals and stems
with gentle Love, oh queen.
By God’s grace I shall keep the beasts,
the monsters that threaten thy beauty,
at bay. With sword and shield I shall fight.
With kindness and compassion I shall love.
