EMPTY SPACES

Slowly a day without you awakens
my inner being still shaken
at the new dawn i stand forlorn

ripped from my being
things I regret not seeing
my whole life has been taken away

bright colours used to dance in the light
all of a sudden the day turned to darkest night
try as hard as I might a battle I could not fight

how did you manage to take it all away
leaving me in this empty place to stay
dreading the dawn of yet another day

broken tears fall down like rain
broken flowers are all that remain
a constant reminder of my pain
