As I walked the paths today
Down on Tilgate’s green
Heart alone, I saw you both
Young, sweet and innocent, hands entwined
A bounce in the step, and rosy glowing cheeks
I turned...
As you crested the hill
Lovingly embraced, tender touches,
Exchanging gentle kisses
The sun smiled on your faces
I had my camera in my hand
Would have been an easy snap
But voyeur I am not
I turned away...
So I keep the thought of you instead,
A snapshot in my head
In young loves memory album filed
And hopeful...
That somewhere, somehow, some day
I may be someone’s photo-study too.
